Open your own story and swipe up or tap the view count. The steps are:
- Tap your profile picture or the story ring at the top of your feed to open your active story.
- While the story is playing, swipe up from the bottom of the screen or tap the eye icon and number in the bottom left.
- Instagram shows the list of accounts that viewed that story slide.
Each photo or video in a multi-slide story has its own viewer count and list. Tap through the slides to see viewers for each one.
How long can you see the viewer list?
The named viewer list is available for roughly 48 hours from when you posted the story. The story itself disappears from your profile after 24 hours, but the viewer information stays attached in the archive for another day in most cases.
After the window closes, the list of specific usernames is no longer shown. Business and Creator accounts may still see aggregate reach and impressions in Insights, but not the individual viewer names.
Can you check viewers after the story expires?
Yes, if the story is still within the 48-hour window. Go to your profile, open the menu, tap Archive, make sure Stories Archive is selected, open the story, and swipe up. The viewer list is attached to the archived story during that period.
