Can You See Who Subscribed to Your YouTube Channel?

Updated on:
October 17, 2026

Sometimes, but not everyone. YouTube Studio shows only eligible recent subscribers: people whose subscriptions are public and who subscribed to your channel within the last 28 days. Subscribers who keep their subscriptions private will not appear by name.

So the list is not a complete roster of your audience. A missing name does not by itself mean that person unsubscribed.

Which subscribers can you see?

You can see only a limited set of recent subscribers in YouTube Studio. YouTube says a subscriber appears in the Recent subscribers list when they have made their subscriptions public and subscribed to your channel within the last 28 days.

Subscriber situationShown by name in Recent subscribers?
Subscriptions are public and the person subscribed within the last 28 daysEligible to appear
Subscriptions are privateNo
The subscription is older than the recent-subscriber windowNot in that recent list
The account is suspended or identified as spamMay not appear

The word “eligible” matters. A list limited by privacy and time is not a complete list of every account that has ever subscribed to a channel.

Read YouTube's current guide to checking recent subscribers for the precise criteria and interface.

Where do you find the recent subscribers list?

Open YouTube Studio and check the Recent subscribers card on your channel dashboard. Select See all to expand the card. YouTube says you can choose a timeframe and sort the list by subscriber count.

  1. Sign in to YouTube Studio with the channel account.
  2. Open the Dashboard.
  3. Find the Recent subscribers card.
  4. Select See all to view the expanded list.

If the card is not available in your current layout, use YouTube Studio's dashboard help page for navigation. Do not use a third-party website that asks for your channel password to reveal hidden subscriber identities.

YouTube also lets creators review subscriber counts over time in Studio. For subscriber growth totals, see its guide to checking your YouTube subscriber count.

Why is a subscriber missing from the list?

Privacy is the main reason a real subscriber may not appear by name. YouTube says subscriptions are private by default, and private subscribers do not show in a channel's Subscribers List.

There are other reasons a name may be missing:

  • The subscription is not recent: the Recent subscribers card covers subscribers from the last 28 days.
  • The account is private: the person has chosen not to show their subscriptions.
  • The account is suspended or spam: YouTube says these accounts may not appear in the list.

Do not treat the dashboard list as an audit of every new subscriber. If a viewer says they are still subscribed but does not appear, YouTube's help says the list only includes people who made their subscriptions public.

How do subscription privacy settings work?

Each viewer controls whether other people can see the channels they subscribe to. YouTube says subscriptions are private by default. When a viewer makes them public, their account can appear in a channel's Subscribers List.

To change your own setting on a computer, sign in to YouTube, open Settings, choose Privacy, and change Keep all my subscriptions private. Check YouTube's subscription privacy settings guide for current steps.

There is a narrow visibility exception worth knowing: YouTube says other viewers can see that you are subscribed if you join a subscriber-only live chat or comment on a video or Short whose comments are limited to subscribers and members. That does not turn the full subscription list public.

Privacy check: making your subscriptions public can reveal the channels you follow on your own channel page. Change the setting only if you are comfortable sharing that information.

Is the subscriber list the same as your subscriber count?

No. The count is an aggregate number; the Recent subscribers card is a filtered list of visible accounts. The card does not show every subscriber, so its visible names will not match the total count.

YouTube Studio can show your subscriber count and how it changes over time. Its public count may also be shortened depending on the channel's size. For another YouTube metric distinction, read our guide to what counts as a YouTube view.

What should buyers know about subscriber visibility?

A subscriber service cannot promise that every account will appear by name in the creator's list. YouTube's own visibility rules depend on the subscriber's privacy setting and the recent-subscriber window.

Before choosing a service, check what it describes as delivery, what information it asks you to provide, and what it does not guarantee. Do not share your YouTube password with a third party. Our YouTube Subscribers page lists the current service details; use YouTube Studio, not a seller's dashboard, for the channel's official count and visible recent-subscriber list.

Also keep subscriber totals separate from monetization eligibility. YouTube applies additional rules to the Partner Program, as explained in our guide to YouTube watch time and YPP eligibility.

Frequently asked questions

Can I see everyone who subscribed to my YouTube channel?

No. YouTube Studio's Recent subscribers list is limited to eligible recent subscribers whose subscriptions are public.

Why can I see the subscriber count but not the names?

The count is an aggregate total. Names are shown only for subscribers who meet YouTube's privacy and recent-activity conditions.

Are YouTube subscriptions private by default?

Yes. YouTube says subscription privacy is private by default, though each viewer can change the setting.

How far back does the recent subscribers list go?

YouTube says subscribers appear in the list if they subscribed within the last 28 days and made their subscriptions public.

Does a missing name mean the person unsubscribed?

No. A private subscription, an older subscription, or an account YouTube identifies as spam or suspends may not appear in the list.

Can viewers tell that I subscribe to a channel?

They cannot see your full list when your subscriptions are private. YouTube notes that subscriber-only chats or comments can reveal that you subscribe to that specific channel.

Bottom line

You can see some recent YouTube subscribers, not a complete list of everyone who subscribed. The person must have public subscriptions and have subscribed within the last 28 days to appear in the Recent subscribers list.

Use YouTube's official subscriber-list guide for the current rules.
