Can You See Who Liked Your Instagram Post?

Updated on:
October 18, 2026

Yes. You can see who liked your Instagram post. Open the post from your profile and tap the likes line or count below it. Instagram shows the current list of accounts that liked the post.

Only the post owner can always see the full list. For other viewers, Instagram may hide the exact count on some posts, but the owner still sees who liked it.

How do you see who liked your post?

Open your post and tap the likes information. The steps are:

  1. Go to your profile and open the post.
  2. Below the photo or carousel, tap the line that shows likes or "Liked by [username] and others."
  3. Instagram opens the list of accounts that currently like the post.

You can scroll the list and search for a username if the list is long. The list updates as people like or unlike.

How do you check likes on Reels and videos?

Tap the view count first, then open the likes list. For Reels and videos:

  1. Open the Reel or video from your profile.
  2. Tap the view count shown below the video.
  3. Tap the likes information to open the list of accounts that liked it.

Each Reel or video has its own likes list. The process is the same on iOS and Android.

Can the owner always see the list?

Yes. Even if Instagram hides the like count from other people, the owner of the post can still open the list and see who liked it. This is stated in Instagram's help materials and remains true across account types.

What happens when like counts are hidden?

Hidden counts do not remove the owner's view. When like counts are hidden on a post, visitors may see only a generic label instead of the exact number. The post owner can still tap the likes area and see the full list of accounts.

If you want to test engagement without showing totals to others, hiding the count on the post does not prevent you from reviewing the accounts yourself.

Do purchased likes appear in the list?

Delivered likes from accounts that actually liked the post will appear in the list. The likes list reflects current likes, whether they came from organic activity or a service. Accounts that later unlike the post drop off the list.

For current details on Instagram likes services, see the Instagram Likes service page. Check the list on your post while delivery is in progress if you want to verify.
