Can You Hide Like Counts on an Instagram Post?
.jpg)
Yes. You can hide the like and view count on an Instagram post. Use the per-post setting before you share or after publishing. When the count is hidden, visitors see a label such as "Liked by [username] and others" instead of the number. You can still see the total on your own post.
Hiding the count does not disable likes or remove the list of accounts that liked the post.

How do you hide the count before sharing?
Use Advanced settings on the final screen before you post. The steps are:
- Create your post or Reel as usual and reach the screen before sharing.
- Tap or click Advanced settings.
- Turn on Hide like and view counts on this post.
- Return to the sharing screen and post.
This setting applies to that single post. You can change it later if you decide to show the count.
How do you hide the count after sharing?
Open the published post and use its menu. On the app:
- Go to your profile and open the post.
- Tap the three dots in the top right.
- Choose Hide like count.
To show the count again, reopen the post menu and select the option to unhide or show the like count. The change takes effect for visitors right away.
Can you still see the total yourself?
Yes. Instagram keeps the total visible to the post owner even when the public count is hidden. You can open the post and see the number and the list of accounts that liked it.
What changes for visitors?
Visitors see a label instead of the number. When the count is hidden, people who open the post see text such as "Liked by [username] and others." They may still be able to tap the line to view accounts if the post allows it, but the exact total is not shown to them.
| Who | Sees the number | Can open liker list |
|---|---|---|
| You (owner) | Yes | Yes |
| Other viewers | No (when hidden) | Depends on post |
Does this apply to Reels and videos?
Yes. The same hide like and view counts control applies to feed posts and Reels. Use Advanced settings before sharing or the post menu after sharing.
